Dedicated Server Must Haves

When renting a dedicated server, most people forget on how important data backup is. Not having your data backed up, is among the top killers of any business. There are a variety of different types of back up. Mainly I would recommend a dedicated server with R1Soft CDP (Continuous Data Protection.)
How CDP works with your dedicated server(s). Say you have a LA dedicated server at a host and you want to back up. You simply install the CDP software package on the server and set a scheduled time for your back ups and how many versions of each file you want it to keep. The first back-up will do a full copy of your servers entire file structure. Once this is completed, each back up will only back up the files that change. This comes in very handy for a few reasons.
There are a few advantages to having the CDP to back up only the files that change. The main reason is disk storage. Say you have 15 gigs of data and only a few files change daily, this will allow you to store more versions of the data that changes. So with the proper dedicated server and CDP package, you can avoid disaster if something goes wrong. The best part is, it is all automated!
